Senate is the legislative branch of GSBA, consisting of 24 elected senators representing each class, off-campus, on-campus, international, and returning adult students. Senate is run by the elected Speaker of the Senate, who oversees the work and efforts of the body. Senate focus is primarily on student advocacy and policy work.

It is the job of Senate to be the voice of student concerns to the administration and to work toward changing or implementing new policies that benefit the student body. Senate meets weekly to consider bills brought to the floor by members as well as pressing issues on campus.

All Senate meetings take place on Monday nights at 8:00 PM in Hemmingson 314. These meetings are open to the public and all are encouraged to attend.
